In stock WITP the quality of some of the allied replacement pilots increases in 1943 (and further in later years), but in scen 159/160 I am seeing no improvement in replacement pilot quality on Jan 1 '43.

Are my replacement pilots ever going to get better, or am I destined to receive crap USAAF pilots throughout the war?

The average quality of reinforcement units that enter the game improves, but the quality of pilots in the pool is fixed.  It never changes.

I don't get to see the actual quality of the pilots in the pool, just the screen that lists the average quality of the various types of pilots. Are you saying that the actual quality is changing, but that what is listed on the screen never changes?

The screen will always show the at start values but they do increase, forget where it states it in the manual what the years arre but it's there somewhere. This is something that just never has really been done in a patch update to change what the screen shows vs what is really happening but IMO should be done so the players know. Somewhere in 43 & 44 the Allies start to go up & the IJ go down from what I remember.

If you look at the manual, the quality of reinforcement units entering the game changes, but the quality of pilots in the pool used for replacements in units already on the map is fixed throughout the game.  This is one area where the manual is correct.  I have never heard from anyone who has been in the code that this has ever changed.

I thought it was the replacement pilot pool experience changed in late war years but what you saw on the screen never changed as the reinforcement units exp is changed in the db. That was my understanding of it all.

I thought that table was for replacements, not reinforcements. I just wasn't paying close enough attention to what I was reading - seeing what I wanted to see, not what I was actually seeing, I guess.
