I had developed a fictional unit, the UK 17th Guards Armoured Division, a fine organization that includes the 4th and 5th Welsh Guards Inf Bns, also fictional. Using the abbreviated space on the 'counter', my shorthand on the unit results in them being labeled "4WG" and "5WG", and so subunits are labeled "A.4WG" and so forth in the normal British/Imperial Inf bn format. So far, so good, right? The weird thing is the Scenmaker keeps re-writing these two units to "4SS" and "5SS". Repeatedly, despite saving, destroying and recreating from scratch, exporting, editing in another scenario, and re-importing, I just can't get that abbreviation to stick. I guess I could re-name them something with SS as initials - the 4th and 5th Bns of the Squirrely Scenmaker Royal Regt?

Gees a blast from the past. I just figured out what's causing this. It's the code we added for CDV when they published RDOA in Germany. This was designed to substitute WG for SS, as SS was deemed too sensitive for the German market. Look there is not a lot I can do about this for COTA. I'll address this for BFTB. In the meantime, use some other designation other than WG - eg WGD or WGs or WEL.

Wow, I couldn't help wondering what caused that, so I posted it. Avoiding the SS-WG combination is easy enough, I just wanted some validation that I wasn't going insane.
