New Player looking for Opponent - CHS 157 or 159

Hello,

I'm a new player who has spent the last month or so trying to get a handle on how this game works by playing the AI. However, I feel that its time to try my hand against an opponent that can actually think.

I would like to play the CHS 157/159.

I do not mind if you are a new player like me or a veteran, chances are I'll get picked apart anyway. Any advice people could give while they proceed to do that though, would be most welcome.

I would be willing to play either side, though if given a choice I would prefer Allies, simply as I still have some trouble keeping the Japanese industry running smoothly. (Curse the desire to accelerate every CV on the list...)

As far as House rules and games settings go, I'm very open as to what people would like, but as basic guidelines;

-Turn Cycle : 1 Day
-Advanced Weather : On
-Reinforcements : Variable (+/- 15 or +/- 60, Negociable)
-Sub Doctrines : On
-Auto Sub Ops : Off
-Allied DC : On
-Historic Start : On or Off, either is fine
-Vary Set Up: On or Off, either is fine
-December 7th Surprise : On

-If Non-Historic Start, Japanese can strike at 1 port on Turn 1

-ASW TFs limited to 6 ships

-No Sub Commando Raids

-Landings only on base or dot hexes

-No 4E Naval bombing under 10k feet

-Stacking limits as follows;
Aircraft : 50 Engines x AF Size - 20 Engines x AF Size for Atolls
Troops : 50,000 for Island Hexes - 20,000 for Atolls (Attacker may land twice this number, reduce to limit within 2 weeks of capture)

-LCUs under Kwangtung Command must pay PPs to transfer to another command before leaving Manchuria

These are all of course debatable, so if you feel we would be better off with some variation of these, then by all means please let me know. I hope than any game will be playing in good spirits and that we can resolve any issues that do arise through email.

Thank you, I look forward to your responses.

Edit - Forgot to add that I would like to aim for a day/turn, more if possible. Would be grateful if people would notify me when they know beforehand they wont be able to keep the pace up because of reallife issues, and I will do likewise.

Looking for a Japanese player to play whole campaign. Assume that is CHS

All the house rules are acceptable to me except the altitude limit on 4 engine bombers. CHS 157 or 159 are custome versions of the stock campaign?

I dont have the experience to play japanese effectively

I would be willing to try playing Japanese, though I look forward to an economic collapse by mid 42...

Yes, CHS 157 is a variant using NikMod rules for A2A, and CHS 159 is the same using experimental rules for A2A. Both reduce the effect of the "uberCAP". I would prefer 157 if its all the same to you.

Theyre both variants for the War in The Pacific full campaign, and they both use the Extended Map by Andrew.

I'd be willing to concede lowering the 4E bombing heights to 5k feet, but no lower.

Also, would like to hear your opinion on should we should use a historic start.

If anyone else is intrested, please let me know, I wouldnt mind if I end up playing two games.

Thanks for the replies.

Can I suggest the HR for 4-engine bombers being something like:

4-engine Naval Attack missions flown at 12,000 feet or higher. No limit on other missions.

Oh, I can´t believe I didn´t state that it was for Naval attacks only.

Of course thats what I intended, bombing for other purposes is completely unrestricted. Changed in the original now.

In that case would the originals be acceptable if we read it as ´No 4E Naval Attacks Under 10k feet´?

Apologies.

Sounds good to me. Please e-mail me 157.  kevin0352@comcast.net.  As far as the historical start, since you are willing to play Japan you can choose.  The only option I dont care for is the varied setup.

You can download CHS 157 from http://www.bur.st/~akbrown/witp/CHS_download.html

I think well go with a non historical start, but limited to one port attack as in the house rules. Vary Setup Off as you requested.

Ill send you the turn ASAP.

I look forward to our match.

If there´s still anyone else interested, let me know.

Hey,

I forgot to bring it up, but whats your stance on Player Defined Upgrades (PDU)? I dont really have a preference, so its up to you.

Thanks.

I'd still be intrested in starting a second game if there are any takers.

We can use the same HR or a variant, whatever would be acceptable.

Still willing to play as either Japan or Allies.

CHS 157 or 159.

Thanks.
