AI and PT boats

I've noticed that the AI (allies) doesn't use PT boats, all of them in Java and Philippines are always destroy (scuttled) when the port is captured. PT boats are pretty good for port defense and hope the AI in AE will make some use of them.

I have seen the allied AI use pt boats but not in large numbers, ran in to several sizeable groups 5-6 boats around new caladonia in late 43-44.

Playing stock, Japan vs. Allied AI, I was running SCs in to bombard Soerabaja, and at least every other turn the AI had it's PT boats set up as a defensive SC. It was kind of fun taking them on in battle, but after losing a DD to a PT torpedo.....well, it was less fun.

After that the risk-reward equation didn't look so hot and I waited for the ground pounders to take the city.

But yes, the AI will use them, at least defensively.
