Schedule Observation - Default Sked too easy?

Post by GNDN »

File this under for what it's worth:

Is the default schedule that comes with the first season of PS too easy? After adapting the 1998 MLB schedule for 2008, I find the number of off days appears to be less than what was in my 2007 replay association. With an increased number of days off, reliever manangement is easier and I am able to play my best position players longer before fatigue sets in.

Is this just my imagination? Or does it become another wish list item?

On the plus side, the new schedule really allows me to put the new fatigue model through its paces. I must say, I like it a whole lot better, it is making day to day managing more than just fire it up and play another game. Thanks much for the tweak!

Well, if you want drama, then the real-life scheds can provide plenty of it. I just had a season that nearly gave me a heart attack, but even though I lost the pennant, it was a great run.

I got plenty of drama: in my first 3 weeks of the season, I am averaging only 3 runs/game.  I attribute that to two things:  my older players fatigue quicker and my clean up hitter suffered a 6 week wrist injury on the first play of opening day.

I am 3 games over 500 only due to the fact my pitching is strong and my defense solid.  I have already played a 21 inning game, a 13 inning game and an 11 inning game.  It is getting a bit old losing games 3-2, though.

There is a long way to go, however, and they are not played on paper for a reason.
