In my 2 year old PBEM game, we now have pilots vanishing and its not normal rotations doing it in my opinion, as it has hit the IJ side also.
Here are before and after pictures of the pools to show the degree of loss. One day it was fine, the next, groups were short pilots worldwide.

the same happened to me in mid january 1944, all the IJN pilots I had carefully hoarded disappeared and the airgroups I had built up to 80+ experience, overnight droppped to 35 or 40 experience, with some groups short more than half the allocated pilots.

It appears this is a hard code function of the date - it seems to happen in all forms of WITP. Late in 1944 the Japanese will become useless in the air if AI runs them - it converts every unit to kamakaze - which is to say it wipes them out - and there are NO fighters - no bombers - no transports - no nothing.

Since the code is not being reworked - these issues likely will affect AE

Exactly who said the code was NOT being reworked?

There are extensive changes to the code... it isn't going to be TOTALLY rewritten, but there will be numerous changes.

In my game just finished (Allied vs AI, Aug 13, 1945) I checked the AI side (Japan). Most of the AI controlled air units were NOT changed to Kamikaze. Only about 15%.

I've got the same problem in my PBEM, on July '44. Hundreds of pilots vanished in a single day (jap side), with no airplanes losses. It happend a first time, I agreed with my opponent to replay the turn and the pilots were there after this but vanished again on the next turn. Anything we can do beside accept the losses or keep replaying the turn?
