• New Random Campaign Generator
o Choose a time period, a number of missions and a core force and progress through a series of randomly generated linked battles
o Also supports semi-historical and historical campaigns
o Includes support for unit equipment upgrades for longer campaigns
o Design and share your own Random or semi-Random campaigns

This is the sort of feature I have been looking for in a CM type game since CM came out.

Thanks for the feedback - we figured people would like that. [8D] And note that it's only going to get better as time goes on. This was the last feature that made it in before release, but it's one of the ones we're most excited about fleshing out further as well.

Same reason I was sold on it after I understood how it works. haha That took a few days. This is what CM series was always lacking. Now if Matrix and KOIOS can only work on individualizing the infantry so as not so generic when they take losses like a cardboard counter and more like the real thing this series will top the charts in my book. ;)

Oh I hope not. It would change it from a game to an infantry accounting spreadsheet.

I love infantry accounting spreadsheets and no it really wouldn't. Be like Steel Panthers or Mad Minutes games. One guy could represent several and then when several die one guy falls...stuff like that.

Fans have been pleading with Battlefront for such a feature, since CMBO came out.

But Battlefront chose to plough their own furrow.

We will see if PC:K steals the CM glory, by giving games what they want.

Yeah I can't wait to get my hands on the campaign battle generator and then go laugh in Steve's face over at BF that Matrixgames did it first. ;)

Linked battles....hrmmm I never asked what are the VICTORY conditions like for each battle and their types?? Erik are you out there? Strikor? ;) Also when playing a campaign is there an oh what do they call them oh I remember "Hall of Fame" for our Scores? I really like Hall of Fame end of game features in my games. That's what I compete with is my high scores and also depending on the difficulty I play on.

The victory condition calculation doesn't actually change, but how you get there changes from battle to battle depending on the force mix, objectives and type of battle (attack, assault, defense, kessel, etc.).

At the end of every campaign, whether it's a historical one, a short one or a long one, Panzer Command gives you a final screen where you can look through all your units and see their historical kills, medals, etc. as well as your performance. As they progress, units gain experience (and can lose it through losses and replacements), in some very long campaigns they may upgrade equipment, they can gain medals and special abilities based on battlefield performance, etc. The biggest challenge is keeping your men alive long enough in a longer campaign to have elite units with medals and abilities. An elite squad with an Iron Cross, Gold Wound Badge, Veteran Sergeant and Panzer Assault Badge is basically Steiner and his boys in terms of performance, but they can still die.
