What is the difference between the Matrix version and The Limited Edition version floating out there?

The Limit Edition was a North America Boxed version that was published byTri Synengry and Developed by Shockwave. It had  a bonus DVD of the movie of the Battle of Britain, 19"x14" map and keycard, and a 136 page printed manual. It came with version 2.01 of the software in 2005. All of the information in the Limited Edition is now outdated and over two years old.

The Matrix Version is at Version 2.06 of the software, a 300+ page .pdf manual (not printed), a updated key card.

The current BDG Released Version is 2.07 which has been in 1000's of customers hands since Nov25, 2007. We are working version 2.08 (see 2.08 status thread).

Of course you can update any version that you own or buy to the 2.07 version free (and all future updates (2.08) are planned to be free as well).

You have everything you need. Just grab 2.07 and read all the sticky threads at shockwave. I would do a fresh install of your BOBII CD then the 2.07.

I have the original Rowan version. Can I patch this to 2.07, or do I have to buy the Shockwave/Matrix version?[&:]

If you have the Rowan's Battle of Britain published by empire, that is what we call BOBI. You will need to purchase Battle of Britain II Wing of Victory published by GMX and Tri Synergy.
 
You can not patch BOBI with 2.07 as all the files required for BOBII are not present in BOBI (sorry).
 
You will need to purchase the Shockwave/Matrix version and then patch it to 2.07.
