I lost the crippled BB Mush because it stopped to give its DD escort fuel- yes !!
I assume this can be addressed so we have the ability to forbid refuel at sea in AE

Now in WITP you must leave a crippled ship as a one unit TF and escort it with another TF . I learnt this lesson at big cost

Michael, I have seen ships from one TF refuel those in another TF, so that isn't your answer (and no, I am not talking about AOs, but rather large transports that I wanted to move quickly to their destination stopping to refuel the short ranged escorts of a slower TF they just happened to be passing on the way to the front).

Did you lose it because it got attacked again due to stopping to refuel, or did it just sink cause it didn't make it back to port?

If its the latter, chances are it would have sunk anyway. I know I've had plenty of ships make it back to port and sink at the pier. It happens.

What I'm saying is that the one refuel stop might not have made a difference in the grand scheme of things anyway.

The ever pragmatic Imperial Japanese Navy, to whom fuel is liquid gold, decided to salvage as much fuel from the sinking battleship as they could squeeze into her escorts. If only someone had thought to inlude an AO in the TF, they might have saved it all... [;)]

Poetic

She refuelled a DD and used about 300 ops points - she would ahve made it back - she was on about 40/80/5
