ASW Issues

Greetings:
This may or may not been brought up before, but there appears to be some serious issues
w/ the ASW routines. I had noticed this before, but tonite it became bizarre.
I detected an Akula(971) boat. I fired numerous torps from planes and ships and eventually got five(5) hits. After the fifth hit, the boat showed 78% damage and additional
damage in the following areas: engineering, bridge, rudder, and weapons mount.
Even w/ this damage, the boat was making 35kts at Vdeep depth. I was never able
to aquire another firm fix and gave up. This borders on the realm of the twighlight
zone. A little "wiggle room" is OK, but this is insanity.
This situation makes me question the validity of the game.
What to do?

This bug is new with HCE, but I posted about it earlier and was assured that it is being looked into, see this thread: tm.asp?m=1640658

It is being looked into, but sometimes it takes a bit to track down the cause and apply the Shoe of Bug Smashing +12 to the problem.

One of the things we do expect to be able to fix in the short term (relatively short, at least) is the acoustic signature of damaged ships and submarines. In other words, as they sustain damage, their signature increases (to a point).

Thank you all for your replies and info. Having served in P3s, ASW is sort of a
pet peeve w/ me. Thx again.

Sorry, Shark, that wasn't meant as criticism of anyone, I merely wanted to provide information.

Hey watch it there! I was on a boomer off Boston on sea trials when a P3 flew over close to the deck, popped a couple of sonobuoy's, wagged his wings, and flew off (actually it was pretty cool).
