Took a long time to read the threads, but worth it. Seems certain books have been the inspiration for many of the changes and improvements embodied within AE.
What books in particular influenced the teams?
(Not referring to the reference books used, but possible historical narrative or accounts.)

I know the Bloody Shambles series has been used, and I myself have used the book The Japanese Submarine Force and World War II.

I think we will include a partial bibliography in the game notes - but in my case - the vast bulk of the most relevant material would fall in to the "reference book" category. Like I consider Lacroix's work to be a "reference" book.

Yah, same here... That's sorta unavoidable. Conway's and various Osprey books are obvious, along with Shattered Sword. For The Thousand-Mile War, I've relied heavily on the USN Combat Narrative of the campaign.

Just an opinion. I have for a long time felt the game might benefit from historical narrative.
These all seem like excellent examples and I cannot wait for AE to justify my feelings along these lines. Thank you.
