I was just wondering! [&:]
Do you prefer a 'Historical' scenario or a 'Balanced' scenario?
I'll delay revealing my preference for now. I want to see where this goes without a 'starting point'!

Historical
You can balance a historical situation using the Victory Conditions.

I love both kind of scenarios.
Some historical scenarios scale the real events down to "game size" representing a regiment with a battailon and such, I dont like this. Balanced or not I prefer to have there what was there (if we can find out at all what was there).
To me this game and specially the editor is just a "sandbox".
In this I can try and do many things, historical or not is not a parameter anymore to me.
Of ourse I also try out things where only my imagination is the limit.

Historical every time. If its a big scenario I like to look it up on the web or, as in the case of Market Garden, buy a book. [:)]

Hmmmmm...Historical or balanced....historical or balanced.....how about one that is just plain fun? I like one where after all is said and done, at the end of the day, you can look around the battlefiels and see the burned hulks of enemy tanks,gees...that was fun...lets do it again.
Of course....one can historical accuracy AND balance, and still have "fun".

Historical for me brother. I'll use the victory conditions to 'balance' the game.
Some won't like playing an imbalanced historical game. I prefer it! The implied situation of any game is can you do better than what was achieved Historically! I don't know who came up with the 'balanced' scenario, but he should be taken out and.......
Well, okay that's a little extreme, is it not?

Historical, balanced or even unbalanced. As long as it's fun for both sides! The unbalanced scenarios come into their own with different skilled opponents. New scenarios more fun, as long as they're quality!

I'll take historical as well. Rarely has a battle been Balanced in history. But I think VCs can make up for a lot.
Thanks,

I like everything to be as Historical baseĀ as the program allows. You can balance it on your own if that is what you like!

I like both. Historical scenarios are often unbalanced, but if you like them you should accept that.

Historical against the PO and balanced for PBEM. It is always interesting to read about an engagement and then play it out to see some of the factors that the commanders had to deal with. PBEM is competitive and therefore requires that both sides have a chance to win.
