Seems awfully high. But it really is not a statistically significant number of games at this point. Also parks can make a big difference, so if you want to make sure things are just not out of whack you could run a quick season on unattended auto play and select the "Use Average Park for All Games" option from the unattended auto play dialog.
What year are you playing? 2007?

Guys, I just restarted a historical association (1947, real players, real parks) with 1.71. After just 4 games, the association BA is .271. ERA is 3.69. No issues here.
Hard Sarge, your numbers look like some sort of softball league. I'd be interested in the setup of your association, too. Getting realistic numbers requires a bit of work, but it is worth the effort.

explain on the set up ?
I got the 40 man roster, 162 game season, 5 man rotation
anything else ?
I have added in some of the ball parks (got to admit, all the name changes and newer parks, I don't know who is who anymore, we need to change Jakobs Field now, it is Progressive Park)
so for fields, I got a about a 3 rd of the right ones in and the rest default
I do see in my games, it is very much base to base, 2 outs and a ground ball single (well, looks like it should be) though the right side and the running on 2nd makes it to 3rd and stops, I have seen where I need 4 hits in a inning to score a run
there is where I am shaky on this data base (Hafner, Garko, those guys are trucks, but both can score from 2nd base, both of them, while not base stealers, run the bases well, and some of the young kids on the team, can fly, not according to the data base)
of course that is part of the fun, SD has a .088 ERA, and the Reds have the worse, the 5th game, the Reds get a 3 hit shutout
they do got my closer down pat, 45 saves and everytime out, it was a ride in the park, so far, he has giving up 2 HRs on the first pitch, and next game, gets two outs and then makes a error on the mound before getting a pop up to end the game, 3 games, 3 saves and a lousy ERA

LOL, you would think someone would be able to notice that the parks are listed in the same order as the teams are
duhhhhhh
okay, got all the parks set up, and some of the logos
(just in case, I been here since the beginning, lost my HD and have had to restart again)

Something is dreadfully wrong here. Hard Sarge, you might wanna consider re-installing the game and the 1.71 patch.
This association of yours is all messed up. Re-do the draft, and post your team ratings through a screen cap.

Hard Sarge,
Could you post a screenshot of the pitching results from that same game (BOS vs TB)? I would like to see how often, if at all, the AI swapped out pitchers. When you're getting slammed THAT badly, you don't usually stick with your starter...
