The loading bar freezes at the "loading Interface" part, about 10 percent filled up, kinda...

Do you have the latest DirectX drivers dated Mar08? I gave a lil link to a site that has it on the main discussion page earlier this week.

Plus there is a .Net update out there I just got recently as well. How long has it been since you "cleaned" your dvd/cdrom drive? I know many people that have never cleaned theirs and then wonder why games don't load or work. haha

Moving this to tech support.
I'll need more info to figure out what's going on.
Can you please post a DirectX Diag file and the most recent Log file from Kharkov (should be in your /logs directory)?
Please give me some details on what exactly what scenario or side you were trying to play when this happened. Have you tried any other scenarios or campaigns since?
Regards,
- Erik

DirectX may be the culprit. Although you could have the latest version installed in reality the latest Direct X download-although it has the same version- will have different file dates!
Depending on how the developers followed the SDK this could result in missing file errors or in fact freezes when it's not implimented. I'd suggest a redownload of Direct X if it hasn't been in done in the last couple of months.

I have the same problem. I have uninstalled both games, rebooted and re-installed choosing DivX and Net. Got an error from DivX install, but then I got the latest from the net and intalled that.
Result: Music plays, but gameload hangs at "loading interfaces"
These are the last lines from the gamelog:

What kind of error did you get from the DirectX installation? The game requires one of the DirectX components that comes wiith it. Please post a DxDiag file (instructions pinned in this forum for how to get that) and in the meantime, please also try running the following files manually which are in the /redist sub-folder of your game installation directory (just double click on each one and let it install).
dxsetup
mdxredist
dotnexfx

Your video drivers are from early 2006 and audio drivers are from 2003. Could you please update both with the newest versions and give it another try?

Hi All
I have exactly the same problem :
The loading bar freezes at the "loading Interface". I tried with differents graphical settings and its always the same behaviour.
I have .NET 1.1 and latest direct X installed.
I generated my dxdiag.txt file and it reports :
Display Tab 1: No problems found.
Sound Tab 1: No problems found.
Sound Tab 2: No problems found.
Input Tab: No problems found.
Any suggestion ?
Thank you for your help.

Sheesh, not sure what this is all about, I hope we can find a common thread.
Could you also post a DxDiag file for us and your most recent Log file please? Please also try the manual install of the components I suggested above and let me know if that helps.
Regards,
- Erik

Hm, I have bad experience updating video drivers - card is old, I admit and newer drivers tend to mess up the TV-tuner. I think I'll pass and wait until the problem itself is identified. Thanks anyway!
Btw, ran commands per suggestion - no change, loading still hangs.
Same error from dxsetup (see post #7)

Ok, but the problem may end up being driver related.

If you are getting errors when running the DirectX Setup then that's bad news actually - that should run on any system where Windows is working properly. It's an installer straight from Microsoft.
I can't say if that is the issue, but it definitely would concern me.

Hi Antoine,

my dxdiag.txt
Your video and audio drivers are from 2007. Normally that would be fine, but Vista shipped with a lot of problematic drivers so the newer the better. Just so we can rule that out, could you update both drivers to the latest please and give it another try before we continue?
Regards,
- Erik

It looks like it could be a driver issue based on the log file. Could you please update drivers and try again?

Try also double-clicking on "mdxredist102004" from the /redist folder to see if that helps.
