Feind hort mit!

From what I've discerned, this phrase (appears on the scenario intro screen next to the start button) means something like "The enemy overhears" or is "listening in". Is that right?

What's the origin of this little plaque? Was that something on German radios? Is that supposed to play into the German radio motif of the screen? Neat item.

Yes, it's part of the radio motif - it's basically a warning that (to put it in US parlance) "Loose Lips Sink Ships", etc. Maintain security, don't talk about important matters over an open channel.
