Great Game guys but i have a question. I way playing the first starter battle, where you learn how to play. I had 3 platoons of infantry and 3 HT. Loaded the troops (this is right at the starting postion, wasn't given very much room to deploy) and started down the road across a bridge. Was moving fast as the objective was on the other side of the map Not 10 seconds into the turn 2 of my HT's hit mines? And the third shortly after that. Never saw them. How do you detect them! I am at work so i can't look in the manual.[&o] Also why was the minefield right at the starting location? Don't think to many German troops deplyed in minfields if they could help it[:D]

This is one of Stridors lessons. Don't go for the obvious route.

This is freaking hysterical! The Mission Briefing says: "blah, blah, blah....here you'll learn about using the Sdkfz 251, using vehicles to provide cover fire, fast movement and concealment....yada yada yada"

Alright, vehicles finally! I'm stoked so I load up my troops and get goin'..........BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Lesson 1 complete. ROFL[:D]

ROTFLMAO! Excellent! My plan is now complete [:D]

Actually if you read the briefing text really carefully (between the lines even) you may be able to guess that the bridge approach is likely to be a trap.

Anyway that lesson does teach you quite a bit about using infantry with HTs. Including shallow river crossings, something which may not have been obvious otherwise [;)]

I think this game uses Colonel Klink's Recon Unit for reporting to the intelligence staff .... [:D]

KLINK: Shultz!! Sie sagte mir, es gab keine Minen auf diesem Weg!
SHULTZ: Ich sehe nichts ... Nichts.

Translation ...
KLINK : Shultz!!!! You told me there were no mines on this path!
SHULTZ : I see nothing ... nothing.

If you want better AI/Intelligence (it was toned down for gameplay reasons)

Backup the AI.xml in the Data/AI directory to AI.bak

If you want the best AI (but a harder game) copy "Hogan.xml" to "AI.xml" and then play.

If you want to go back to stock settings copy "Shultz.xml" to "AI.xml" or you can rename your AI.bak to AI.xml

Enjoy
