sh-3h Sea King not launching sonobuoys?

Hi to all,
If I set some patrol ASW mission for my air units (scenario Watch That First Step, HUD3 Database, US side), everything seems to be OK for P3 Orion (search with mad, surface radar and deploy sonobuoys line). Helos instead (same mission) just patrol the assigned area, hover at VLov alt BUT does not launch sonobuoy. Is that correct?

Can be because the helo only has active sonar buoys - as far as I know lines dropped are only passive type, you have to drop active manually.

If the helo has a dipping active sonar, every time it hovers then it will ping out some. If it has a dipping passive sonar, then it's like listening out as it hovers (but not pinging). Cheaper than dropping buoys, also you can cover more area that way (also burns more fuel, but if you have helos that aren't burning fuel then you aren't using all your assets).

Must admit, I don't know if you are talking about 3.9 release or 3.9.1 test release. I have one but not the other. So it's diffilcut to help your further unless we know what version of the game you are running.

Just checked, CH-124A Sea King has sonar buoys, SH-3H no, "only" MAD and dipping sonar.

3.9.1 test release with HUD3 Database. Having great fun so far hunting russian subs, we are 1-1 (one alfa killed by P3 Orion, MAD contact prosecuted by the plane; US Hamilton torpedoed and sinked by an unknow red sub :)

Very interesting thread, thank you!
