It's better! [8D]

Shipped promptly - arrived quickly.

Nice package, box, and manual.

Installed perfectly.

Ran flawlessly on my first test-run.

Thanks.

Excellent! Enjoy, let us know how it goes once you get into the meat of the game.

Another thing not expected was that PC:OWS was put on my PCK directory. Can I now delete the PC:OWS game from my hard drive? Is everything to run PC:OWS needed to play the scenarios moved over to that gmae file directory?

I think it is but I just want to make user before making any other moves.

Game works as advertised. Not even a blink on my computer. It downloaded with no problems. Looks great so far!

Good Hunting.

If you installed PCOWS first, the default is the C drive, then a Matrix folder, then a PCOWS folder. When next installing PCK, a separate PCK folder within the Matrix folder.

Sounds like you should uninstall both and try again. But if PCK is working... maybe leave it alone.

Redleg, I didn't expect an old time SPWAW guru to show up in here either. Welcome and we look forward to you designing some scenarios and campaigns.

Paul, it works just fine as is. I have the scenarios from PC:OSW in PCK. I should be able tot play both games from that game if I understand this correctly.

My understanding of PC:OWS being upgraded is all the vehicles and scenario data is brought over to the PCK game directory and that you can run them out of there. If that's the case is there a need to keep PC:OWS on my hard drive?

Good Hunting.

Ok I think. When you install PCOWS first, you have a PCOWS folder with the original stuff in it. When you install PCK, it checks the registry to see that PCOWS is installed, and if so, allows you to see and play the improved versions of PCOWS scens and campaigns within the PCK main menu. So yes, you get OWS folders in your PCK folders but they are not all the same files as PCOWS.

When in doubt:

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Erik posted in another thread to NOT remove the orig. PCOWS install. Apparently PCK checks for each time it loads to allow the PCOWS stuff inside of PCK.

Correct - install Winterstorm first, then Kharkov and then leave BOTH installed. Kharkov checks for Winterstorm each time it runs to see if it can run the Winterstorm content. This is in addition to the initial installation check that determines whether the Winterstorm content is installed at all.

Unfortunately I have uninstalled Winterstorm, now it is sufficient reinstall it or I must disinstall PCK, install WS and reinstall PCK?

Reinstalling just Winterstorm is fine - you don't need to reinstall everything. The initial "during installation" check installs all the additional content. The "runtime" check is what tells it if it can use it. So you've still got all the updated content and if you reinstall Winterstorm, then Kharkov will be happy to use it.
