Emotions and Playing the Game

Outside of family, friends and work, there are few things that actually affect my moods, but for some weird reason, I AM attached to the fate of my Pure Sim team. We're slumping right now, and it really bothers me. Why in the heck should I feel this way? Is this some personality defect, or is it a testament to the quality and immersiveness of the game itself? I'd prefer to think it is the latter.
It might sound odd to some of you, but these virtual players, somehow, someway, DO seem to acquire personality traits of sorts. I know I'm not alone in this, but it frankly feels a bit uncomfortable to publically acknowledge it.
Is this reaction healthy? Yes, I believe it is. We don't confuse reality with the game, BUT, that added sense of responsibility, plus practicing the art of analyzing/solving problems, may actually be beneficial. If nothing else, I'm perfecting the art of rationalizing my hobbies. [:D]
