According to the manual, you can toggle the restricted placement on and off using F4...


This working? I really hate it when my Infantry is on the other side of the map from their Halftracks.

Yes, that should work fine and the option is there for those who want free placement. Just realize that you really can place pretty much anywhere and that includes right next to the enemy.

I have a Microsoft multimedia keyboard with a F lock button like the caps lock and num lock. Do you need to turn on your F keys?

Hmmm... other F keys are working...
 
If I read it correctly, I should be able to hit F4 (standard keyboard)...
 
Tried a number of times doing random battles in a Random campaign... if I read it correctly, battle loads, I'm in placement phase, hit F4, but it still only allows the 250 yard placement...
 
I'll keep playing with it...

Update.... works OK in prebuilt battles, but in battles generated by the Random Campaign, it does not seem to work...

I thought I used it in a Random Campaing.  Did notice I believe that if I already had a unit selected and had already clicked place unit that it didn't work.  Had to make sure I wasn't already trying to place a unit hit F4 then seleceted a unit and clicked place unit.  I believe thats the way I did it.

I don't think its a key-board problem, because it works in prebuilt battles and RBG battles...[;)]

Confirmed. F4 doesn't work in the campaign game.

What about the F12 key?

I don't seem to get it to remove any trees either.....
