New Old problem

OK, I run Vista 64, and the game itself runs fine. However, i cannot use the utility set.

I decided to try to learn the playbook editor, but when I click on Edit Playbook, and choose a playbook; nothing happens.

If I choose create a playbook, i get an error that tabctl32.ocx or one of its dependancies is missing or invalid. This ocx file does exist on my pc. I also get this same error when I try to run the third-party database editor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated; as i have a couple of other programs that get this same exact error. I have reported this to them; but all I have heard back is that it should work.

OK, problem is solved; though i don't particularly like the solution.

I had been getting tired of always having to confirm copy actions, etc so i had turned off UAC.  Well, apparently that prevents some programs written in VB from functioning.  Turning UAC back on allows the programs to run correctly.

Hi.

If you look at the vista installation and use guide I posted, I do mention that you need to have the UAC to play the game. The UAC is required for COM (which is the basis for ActiveX OCX) components. So this isn't limited to VB6 developed software.

True, but since the game itself runs fine with UAC turned off, I thought that maybe something else was in play.

No worries, I'll just have to switch UAC off when i want to edit.
