I just installed the latest patch and recieved this error message:

"AdvancedTactics.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

I had everything closed when I updated, rebooted machine as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thats very odd. So many people already tried the latest patch without issues.
 
Could you be more specific. When does this occur on starting up, after the intro screen, after moving a unit?
 
And also what is your OS and system specs?

My OS is XP, SP2 - I have a Dell XPS 400 with 1 Gig RAM, all my drivers are up to date, I have 77 GB free space on my hard drive.
not sure what else you are looking for.

Have you tried using the "Advanced Tactics (Quick Start)" instead of the "Advanced Tactics Game Menu"? That should start the game directly with out the other overlay stuff in there.

Sorry, Not sure exactly sure which file you are referring to. I did however click on the "Advancetactics.exe" in the folder and the error message comes right up.

Thanks for the info. But this is very odd. I am a bit in the dark.
 
First thing i would try (its a strong hunch) is installing .NET framework 2.0 again.

If that does not improve things. I would try reinstalling the game without the patch and check if it still works then.

I'm currently running Advanced Tactics on my system with dotNet 3.5 without any problems (both WinXP and Vista).

your hunch was correct, I repaired .Net framework and it works now.
