any one ever played 'Action PC' Sports, or 'Cactus League' games?
i am looking for a good basketball simulation game, and since david hasn't made one yet [;)][;)][;)] (hint, hint) , i have to look elsewhere.
i have draft day sports: pro basketball (the new version), but i'm not a huge fan of it.
any feedback would be great.
you can send me a message about it.
thanx.

I haven't played either, but go to
http://simcentral.net/ I have seen downloads for Cactus League there. It's not much, but it may help some. I would like to see Maximum Baseball first.

hack153 - A lot of people swear by the Draft Day Sports series you mentioned, but it is just too dry and overly complex for my tastes. I prefer sim management games that are at least a little immersive and engaging.
Basketball sims are hard to come by - much less a good one. I found Season Ticket Basketball 2003 a few months ago and will get into it more eventually. It's pretty decent, and super cheap. I liked the pick up and play feel to it compared to the more complex sims.
Football-wise, I like coach mode in MaxFB (natch) and also enjoy 2nd and Ten Football and FB Mogul. They're not as statistically deep as the Draft Day / Bowl Bound / FOF games, but they are more approachable for me. I love the playcalling interface in 2nd and Ten - it's the best I've ever used among text sims.
For baseball, I tend to prefer Baseball Mogul, especially using the PBP (Pitch By Pitch) mode. It's reminicent of playing the old FPS Baseball Pro series. I intend on giving PureSim an extended demo run sometime this summer too.

yeah, dds:pb is overly complex. i play out of the park baseball 6, and have season ticket 2003, but lost interest in it years ago. i might give cactus league a try. i know they used to somehow associate with APBA, who i used to play when i was a kid.

I have Action Basketball.
Did not even get past a season as it has no Career stuff.

I have Action and DDS: College basketball. I do not play Action Basketball at all. And while DDS is overly mundane (complicated), it still is fun once you get the hang of it.

i've made up my mind, and purchased cactus league. i've wanted to do a replay of the celtics since i was a kid. figured starting off with Bird's rookie year would be a good place to start!
thanks to everyone for the feedback!

Please let us know how you like it, hack. I'd have grabbed a demo of the game myself if it looked like one was available on their website, but didn't see one posted.
