3 observations that bug me...

1st one. I have made my strikes and my forces have taken some damage - it's time to withdraw! I have a cruiser in my group that has been damaged, so I my total force can't go any faster than 8 knots. I end up loosing most of my ships to air attack as they are unable to detach the cruiser and scoot.
This one is a major game enjoyment killer for me. I have made some good "sneaky" moves and would have won the game except for this problem.

2nd - DD's seem to be WAY to easy to hit with torpedo attacks. Did an air launched "fish" ever hit a DD in reality? They should be able to dodge almost all attacks, in game however they don't.

3rd. I've had Yamato sunk by only a few bomb and torpedo hits now several times. I understand that "$*#!" happens and not everything will be historical, but it sure seems like Yamato and BB's in general should be tougher than they are in this game. Sure, one or two bombs 'could' sink Yamato but that shouldn't be the norm IMO.

Other than the first "gripe" I enjoy the game. Even with the first one I can take satisfaction that I would have won if not for the games limitations. Still, it would be gratifying to have the "Banzai" or "Hurray" at the end of these when many more ships should have escaped than did.

Too bad you can't link a good surface warfare gave with CAW - have the surface battles fought out in fighting steel or something!

(comments on #1) Note that this is a scenario creation issue, not a problem with the game. Either the scenario creator did not want you to be able to detach the ship/class, or he forgot to include it in the scenario.

Yes, I agree that you should be able to do it. Thats why I try to include it in my CAW MP campaign scenarios. But I must admit that with all things to do in creating a scenario, its very easy to forget things.
