Be Advised - Steel.prf File

If any of you do suffer crashes on initial play, it is most likely that you did not delete the famous steel.prf file.

This file is made by the game and retains the settings in your preference menu. For some reason it can get corrupted when starting 2.0.

It is in the \save directory of SPWAW. Delete it, start the game, reset your preferences and the game will make a new one.

Now that was mentioned in the download instructions, but I am just guessing that some folks (not you, of course! Image ) did not read that Image

So if you have a crash, try this speedy remedy.

Wild Bill speaks the truth. I had just that problem (be careful where you install the patch, it adds its own prefix to whatever you choose). Problem solved.

Thanks Bill!

BTW, please pass along my heartfelt thanks to the Matrixgames team. They're the reason Steel Panthers (in this latest incarnation) has been on my computer since the beginning. Excellent work!
