New to AT and playing this scenario as a warmup/training session. I like a challenge so I am playing as Allies with AI set to A+. Have just gotten beaten and am looking for tips from some of you. Who has been successful as Allies and what tips do you have? Thanks in advance.

BTW, love the game.

Dont fight the Germans in the frontline. Retreat your forces to Tobruk and put up a fight around there when you have some reinforcements.
Try to bomb without messing with the Luftwaffe to gain experience.
If things fail, build fortifications around El Alamein.

I've tried this scenario once in a solo game (with Axis), once again in a pbem game (with Axis again) ; another pbem game is running with the Allies for me. I find it rather unbalanced, the odds being strongly in favour of the Axis. I'm sure Jay will confirm this point [;)]

I wondered what you guys think about this ?
Is it us who do not play the right strategy or is there a balance issue here ?

My opinion is : there is an issue. My suggestion to correct this would be : either have the Axis troops start some hexes west to their actual position, either giving the initiative to the Allies. Also, I wonder why there is no naval supply. If an allied HQ stands in a port (say Barce or Gazala) he may receive his supplies by see. This could allow Allies to work on some more historical strategies around Benghazi/Tobrouk lybian corner. There is actually no way for the alies to set up a defense point in Tobrouk that could fix Axis for monthes. I'm sure the scenario could be really enhanced by allowing some naval supply here.

Note : BTW, with the present settings, Axis troops reach Gazala far before the historical may/june 42 date [:)]
