A HUD Suggestion

I don't know if this has been suggested elsewhere, but it would be very useful if the infantry icons in the HUD were colour-coded to show damage steps - white OK, yellow one step and red two steps. In infantry-intensive fights, I find myself cycling through my units to see who is the best squad to lead the charge, assault the hill, etc. Colour-coding would speed it up considerably and would be useful to give an instant overview of the state of one's infantry.

Hmmm... I was just nosing around in the /Graphics directory and found a 'normal', yellow and red 30x30 Infantry HUD icon. Are these perhaps used at higher resolutions than I am running or are they just waiting for a rainy day? [;)]

FNG, great suggestion.

The different colored 30x30 icons you see in the directory are for different states:  mouse rollover, mouse click, and selected.  Check it out in game.

Yes, a good suggestion - it almost made it in for Kharkov actually. We were planning to have the HUD icons show damage/casualties as well as morale status, but ran out of development time to fit it in. Definitely for the next release.
