Just to be sure....2 more about supply

Hi all,

Two more quick ??'s about the supply process:

1/ The manual talks about units drawing supply from either a base OR Supply Entry Point. Am I correct in assuming the only unit type that can draw supply from a SEP is a base unit??

2/ In some wargames a supply entry point equivalent will displace to another friendly road/rail/track hex along the map edge if an enemy unit comes along and occupies it's original hex. Is this what happens in COTA?? I'm guessing not. If not then any inbound supply convoys from the SEP to drawing bases must be getting pretty well blocked if that is a side's one and only SEP. If a side has more than one SEP then I hope the engine is capable of rerouting ALL of that side's inbound supply convoys thru those SEP's that are not occupied by enemy units. Am I correct??
Thanks!

Just to be sure I ran some tests and here's what I found:

That's correct.
2/ In some wargames a supply entry point equivalent will displace to another friendly road/rail/track hex along the map edge if an enemy unit comes along and occupies it's original hex. Currently the occupation of a SEP has no effect on the SEP's ability to draw supply from off-map. So the game does not re-route to a different SEP. At this stage in development the SEP should be considered as an abstraction of the off-map delivery of supplies. Remember also that the enemy's SEP's are not visible to you anyway so you will never know if you stumble on it.

I am relatively new to COtA but it seems that enemy SEPs are never visible to the player; but I believe that should be visible in some cases. At least in some scenarios (like pre-planned airborne-paratrooper attacks), it is reasonable to expect to have an information about enemy SEPs. Am I wrong?? [8|]

Well just as in real life there is no marker on the ground that says "this is a supply entry point" but yet you can deduce where the enemy is dropping supplies for his airborne forces, so too there is no marker but you can deduce where they are in COTA. An air delivered SEP cannot move. In most scenarios it will in one of the drop zones. It would be nice I suppose to provide some feedback about the approximate location where transports have been observed dropping out parcels.

TT3648 - UI - Provide EnemySupplyDrop report to indicate where enemy supplies are being offloaded.
