Task Force Numeration

Hi-I think this applies to all scenarios. Playing as Allies.
Is there some way to change TF number designation after the TF is formed?
Example: I'd like to put my fast BBs into a TF 1034. When I go to the list of TFs, there is no TF 1034. But when I try to form a new TF I get either TF 1068 or something in the 1100s.
I do have my CVs in TF 1038, by transfering ships into & out of the existing TF 1038.
Thoughts, please. Thanks, Hugh Browne

Hmmm... usually it is a TF already being used that means it can't be used, but if the TF number is available, i am not sure what could be causing this.
You can approach this a couple of different ways - either swap ships with a TF in the same hex with a lower number, or find an acceptable TF # (say TF 1066 for example) - go to that TF, click "Form new TF" - then transfer all the ships from TF1066 to the new TF.
Then immediately go back to the TF you want to have the designation of TF1066, click on it, click on "Form new TF" - the old TF1066 number
usually will pop up as the default.

I can see where it would be a complete nightmare to create a TF so that it has a specific number. Don't know if I would bother trying it.
As a cop-out answer, wait for AE, where you can name your TFs.[:'(]

rtrapasso-Thanks, I tried that, but TF 1034 would not come up. Think I'll take charbroiled's advice & wait for AE.
Again, thanks to you both. HB

Right - using the method i outlined above you can get a LOWER number TF (if you have a high numbered one) - you can't usually specify which one.
If there was a TF1034 was "on the board" you could probably get it (again, by the method above)... but since it isn't present you are pretty much stuck with the numbers you have.
