Can I please make a request.

Could you up the polycount ~ 5000 - 6000 for the base model and then do another version ~ 1500 - 2000 polys as a LOD.

I am stuck for time right now but can anyone out there please help Ryan texture his tanks?????

I will animate + rig this one if someone can texture it.

Current Tiger Render; about 4,006 polys. Of course, this can be cut down significantly by using the "round wheel faces as textures" trick; the Tiger II has a lot of interleaved roadwheels....

Don't do that for the main model, but you can do that for the LOD model to save polys. The idea is to have some really nice models. This is looking really good ryan, we *have* to get it in the game.

I think the next release the poly limit is going to be somewhere in 3000-3500.

So I've been looking at variants, and I think with some effort; model the following:

King Tiger with Porsche Turret (the first what, 10-25 built had the Porsche turrets before they switched to the Henschel ones)

King Tiger with 10.5 cm KwK: Paper panzer proposed as the next evolution of the Tiger.

Jagdtiger: basically, all I'd need to do is replace the turret with a fixed superstructure.

Mostly done; I still need to do some tweaking, and seeing what little features I can add, and where I can optimize it to reduce polygons; the mesh is about 5,384 polys now. [X(] Of course, I can add a few more details to bring it up to about maybe 5,450 to 5,500 polys; this is after all the KING TIGER we are talking about. [:D]

Three for the price of one! [:D]

First on the left, is the Tiger II with Henschel Turret; representing about maybe 80% of all Tiger IIs built.

Next to it is the proposed Tiger II which would have begun production in July of 1945. It's kind of hard to see it; but the bow machine gun has been deleted; the radio operator has been given a ball/socket mount StG-44 to use if he needs to; and the Coaxial Machine gun has been upgraded from a MG-34 to an MG-42. The big change is the inclusion of a stereoscopic rangefinder on the turret sides.

Finally, on the far right; we have Krupp's proposed Pzkpfw. Tiger mit 10.5 L/68 [X(]

Next up....because it uses the same hull......JAGDTIGER!

Proposed Tiger II LOD design:

Basically, any raised things like ventilators, etc and the towing handles get deleted; we can represent them with a carefully shaded texture. The muzzle brake gets turned into a solid thing, which we can make transparent via textures....

So this comes out to 2,584 polys; and if we do the round wheel as texture trick, we can save about 576-600 polys, bringing down the poly count to 2,008.

And some random work been done on the Jagdtiger; I've found a random problem with the rear lifting eyes which will need me to redo them for all the models. [:@]

And that super curvy mantlet is a toughie to model[:@]

Nevermind, I'll do some more work on it tomorrow, I'm pooped from today.
