Can you view other WMV movies? Are you trying to view them through the tutorial video player or separately? If through the player, have you tried launching the movies directly from the Start menu folder?
Are you able to see the logo movies and intro movie when the game starts?

G'day Erik,
Guess your talking about matrix 2by3 and opening videos. yes I can view them at the beginning. My rig is A Dell 2.4 Ghz 2 gig ram XP and an ATI9550 video card. I don't have problems watching other media movies Promo from matrix etc.

Are you watching them through the tutorial player or separately? If through the player, can you launch them manually and see if they work for you?

Yes, they're the same type as the Promo Video and actually created by the same program, so this is puzzling. I'm going to get our most knowledgeable video guy involved in this tomorrow.

What version of Windows Media Player do you have installed?
One suggestion I found in reports of people having problems seeing video in WMV videos is that it may be video driver related. Try turning down the hardware acceleration for your graphics card a notch or two and see if there are any driver acceleration settings that might be video-related that you could change.
Does your setup have more than one display monitor? For Media Player 10: "Start software>click Tools>click Options>click Performance Tab>click Advanced (under “video acceleration”>click “use high quality mode” (under Video Acceleration area); this will uncheck “Use overlays”.
A suggestion for ATI cards and video problems: "there’s a checkbox in the ATI control program that said “combined writing” and so I un-checked it and all’s well"
