Friend, you have to log-in into The Official Ladder. There you will find Short Games, the Official Ladder games.

PBEM:
First you have to configure the game for PBEM.
Means you have to activate "passwords" and the "PBEM Anti Cheat"
At the end of the turn you save as usual.
For PBEM it is often
Lee_vs_Grant_01a.pt2 (player 1)
Lee_vs_Grant_01b.pt2 (player 2)
The 01 represents the round number. Player 1 has to change this when he saves his turn.
Simply to avoid overwriting the turns.
You then send the turn you saved. Simply attach it to your email,
write some lines and go. You can send it as it is, no need to zip it.
When you get the answer you simply save the attachment into your saved games folder
and open it like a normal saved game.
I have for each of my opponents a own folder in my saved games folder. A lot of folders full of
well known names in the AT world [:D]
Hope this was a help.

I forgot:
Imho it is better you start with non ladder games just for fun.
Less pressure, better for learning. You can find opponents here in this forum.

I'll play you a random PBEM game. I've not done one yet so I'm just as much a newb as you. I can ususally get in a turn every day or two.
