Hi All,

I had not played ToW for quite a time. Then I downloaded the Uber patch and JSI mod.

I am finding it to be quite a bit of fun creating small scenarios with the Battle Generator.

I allow no more than 15 units per side which I find quite managable. Usually it ends up as less.

I try to make them historical, but only in the sense that the Germans have less units but more experience.

Too bad about non-enterable buildings and no smoke. However, at least I am enjoying the game when I thought I may never do so.

Try it you may enjoy it too.

regards John

We have single AFVs now. What about a mod that would use individual soldiers organised under a squad leader?

Instead of clicking on the Platoon CO and ordering squads, you will click the squad CO and order the squad.

Limit the forces to a Company of troops, a few AFVs and maybe a mortar and MG.

Thoughts?

Sounds like CMSF to me. No thanks.

Good Hunting.

Yep except WWII, PBEM works, not RT, soldiers can mount buildings without the TacAI sending them around the building...

I would like to see what it would be like in terms of how it impacts game play. The command system as it works would seem to support it, with the squad leader giving an overall command as opposed to the company leader.

Wild Bill Wilder made a scenario for WinSPMBT with single soldier squads that was interesting. But with SP and some games you can attach units to an HQ unit. Best I can tell looking at PC xmls I would have to have all the troops the same. No mix of riflemen, LMG, AT weapon, etc. Since there is no Company CO in PC, I can't have platoons, MGs, mortars, snipers, ATs, under one command.

I wouldn't mind seeing this too.. although there needs to be much differnet behaviour for individual soldiers than what you now have with the squad representation (in particular the step losses).  So probably not really possible with the game as is...

Dooh, I didn't even think about the step loss thing.

Hmmm, what happens to a sniper team (two people) in PCK? Does it go right from casualty to dead?
