I am no computer wizz but I had a friend look at it and he said my computer meets all the requirments.
After this I tried the old CC title and got the same error!!!
What have I done?

I bought the game in its disk form and loaded it onto my C drive.
As I double click on the shortcut it looks like its loading up and then shows the error "Action not supported"
I have tried to load other CC titles with the same error.
Cheers

Try running DXDIAG and enabling directdraw etc.
EDIT:
I found this after searching various forums:
"If you have the Action Not Supported problem, when launching CC5 do this.
Go to dxdiag enable directdraw, launch the game, exit the game, disable directdraw and play.
I've had this problem many times, after installing mods."

Also found this:
I bought cc4 and installed it and it worked fine for a couple days. Then I tured on my computer and this photo gallery installer starts loading itself. I cancel it out and try to play the game and photo gallery minimizes it and starts loading itself. After canceling it, CC4 says action not supported and shuts down. Ever since, when I boot up, along comes this photo gallery. I throw out cc4 and buy cc3 for $100. Install it, try to play it, nope, it's photo gallery again. Meanwhile cc5 runs fine. what can be done? Thanks
Answer:
Uninstall the photo program you bought/downloaded or came with your computer and play CC.
So sounds like a program has associated it's self with an incorect file
maybe the pix or gdg extensions.
