Matrix Games (
http://www.matrixgames.com) is proud to announce that it will publish Titans of Steel Warring Suns, the latest game from Vicious Byte (
http://www.viciousbyte.com). Titans of Steel Warring Suns is a turn- and hex-based tactical game that gives players command of giant fighting machines and their human pilots.
Buoyed by the excellent reviews of its first Titans of Steel game, Vicious Byte has been developing Titians of Steel Warring Suns for over a year. Improved graphics, sound, AI, and interface are just a few of the many enhancements gamers can expect. A Scenario Editor will allow players to create and modify their own battles.
“The tactics in this game are very deep,” says Matrix Director of Operations David Heath. “Its system of time- and turn-based play makes it very different type of game.”
“Our dedication to this design, combined with the support of Matrix, will give players the game they want,” says Eric Petersen of Vicious Byte.
The new auto move feature allows you to concentrate on your fighting. Up to four players with thirty-two Titan-ATs can compete in Hot seat, LAN or Internet games.
Fans of the original Titans of Steel will find a lot of major improvements in this new release. Some of the enhancements:
- All new high quality sound effects and soundtrack
- New Hi-Res graphics
- Five new Campaign settings
- Three campaigns set in the new Titans of Steel: Warring Suns Universe.

You guys don't quit do ya'? Well, here's another one for my list.
David, how many games can Matrix co-develop simultaneously, without running into problems? Matrix personnel must be stretched right now. There are some "older" announced games that I'm waiting to see, and the idea of resources being taken away from them to cover something new is one thing I hope isn't happening.

Hi Ed
Well my life is spread pretty thin. The fact is we are not done yet either. First if you look at our contact page you will see some new talented faces there. Matrix is doing a lot of publishing and yes our staff does help in any areas the development our developers handle most of the work themself.
Have no fear we are working very hard on our games.

Just my first hello to all who might visit this forum. I'm one of the designers/coders of the game. If you like to know why your large laser seems to get less penalties on moving targets than your autocannon - ask me.

Warring Suns is build upon the old ToS. Enhancements include grafix, sound, AI, missions, player auto move and other things.

Hey, Larkin, think I could get added to the list of playtesters? I think I've done enough playing to warrant it.

less than 5% of the graphics from the old version will make it into the new version. It will look like a completely new game. the screenshot of the new Savannah map on the TOSWS screenshots page is only a tiny example. There are really twice as many arenas as the old version. Each arena has 2 versions of that style. The extra set in each style is going to be used mainly for campaigns.

The screenshots shown look great! It does look like a new game, but it's also immediately recognizable as ToS--I like that.

actually prince: your wrong!
i have a copy of *every* shakespeare work at home, besides i'm reading Julius Caesar in school, so i'm certain it's "Then fAll Caesar."
also prince, this isn't like the old forum, you can edit posts. you should't double-post like that. (the edit link is in the upper-right of your message)
and i think the old forum will work pretty well as a battle-report place, eh? or we could put them in here.. i don't think it matters much. IMO the old forum worked *very* well (despite everyone's complaints).

The old forum would work better for battle reports concerning version 1.3 or the earlier version since this is considered a New game. But post whatever you like here as long as its TOS related.

I thought it over and I think battle reports are totally fine here on the matrix TOS forum. Also post anything you want about TOS, If you think you could post it at the Vicious Byte forum then feel free to post it here as well. we all want to know whats going on especially the battle results between Prince Corrin and Hetzer or what happened with the battle he had at the same time with Mcwizard? and Lyhruss.

Hello you lot,
just saying "hello" to let you know that I'm available in this forum, too. Like Larkin I'm one of the designers/coders at Vicious Byte.
If you have questions about the game - especially about the Titan Factory or the TCC - ask me."

Great Forum,
Man where's the game; I'm ready to play.
Just wanted to say hi to all. I'm absolutely positive the new version will be the toughest
strategic wargame to hit the planet. The Art of TOS web site is under reconstruction. If you have any thing that you would like to see in it, let me know.
