I've never modded before but I read about it, I know this is really stupid sounding but, How DO you Mod?

So thirty people see this thread but no one responds. What are you, a bunch of New Yorkers? (I'm a transplanted New Yorker, so I can make that joke.)
Jonah, in the FOF folder there is a "Data" subfolder. Any .txt file in there is a moddable file. You're best off opening them in Excel or a similar spreadsheet program, since that lets you see the data in their proper format. As you'll see, every unit/container type and building has a set number that is used in other files, as is true for guns, brigade attributes, etc. The ACWStart file is the one that says which forces start where, and other files dictate provincial economic production.
By poking around and experimenting you should be able to figure things out. REMEMBER: When modding, ALWAYS back up the file, in case you mess up.

What would the FOF file be called and where would I find it? (Sorry, as I said I am very new!)

You mean the folder? Somewhere on your C: drive should be a folder called "Matrix Games," and inside you'll see the FOF folder. Use Windows Explorer to find it.
If you have trouble, do a file search for "Forge of Freedom.exe" and you'll see where FOF is hiding.

I found it fun to tinker with adding leaders. Changing there initial startup location and spawn time. Makes for a fun what if type of deal
