The thing that I really liked about the original ToS was that it had a great deal of functionality from MechForce for the Amiga, it ran well on a PC, and it was FREE.

Will the new ToS still be free, or will we have to pay for it? And if we pay for it, what will we be paying for?

Warring Suns isn't going to be free. I, for one, would've been willing to pay for the original ToS, if it hadn't been freeware, though. I've gotten so many hours of fun out of it, it would totally be worth the price of a regular computer game. I'm willing to bet that ToS 2 is going to be a lot better than the first one, but even if it was only a little better, it'd still be worth it. In my opinion.

Same here.

I loved the Amiga Game, and was even in a RPG which used it for our missions - (the Amiga did all the battle\mecha calculations, and you couldn't argue about someone fudging the dice rolls :-) So when I heard about Titans of Steel, I got it and was amazed about how much you got, (for free!) compared to other shareware games I had tried. The customization & replayability was incredible, and you could battle someone online?!? for free?!?

After many months of even more improvements and tons of personal and online games, I'm more than willing to cough up the money. Even if it's $35 or more, I've blown lots of money, time & hard drive space on games that quickly became a waste of my play time.

That's what stands out about ToS - it's huge 'freshness factor'. With the ability to evolve pilots & teams, design & tweak titans, and online gaming community, I have yet to get bored.

I fully agree.

TOS certainly has looks that'll scare out some poor souls that weren't given the gift of patience to learn the controls. Mouse-clicking is simple, but a game will run several times faster with keyboard shortcuts.

Considering its price, it's truly amazing that TOS ranks in top three on my "all-time most played games" -list, with only Heroes of Might and Magic III claiming victory. That's HUNDREDS of hours of enjoyable playing time, folks.

So, for all I care, TOS II may have a price tag of well over $50, but it'd still have a great value.

Amen to that.
