Most of the map consisted of a broad valley with two ranges of hills coming together with a one hex gap. I was placed to the east of this gap, my AI allies just south of my positions. I clambered onto the northern range of hills occupying the heavily wooded shoulder just above the gap with two homemade Woodpecker Titans (Light - twin AC4, LGM, 4MGs, heavy armour, top comp and scan) and I placed a Duellist behind the valley gap. I sighted the enemy group (1 heavy, 1 medium , two lights) at long range and started to chip away at the heavy with my AC4s. They advanced slowly and I got in several rounds of fire but my allies took up a position behind the southern shoulder, out of sight of the enemy, and just sat there. I decided to pull back over the hill and headed west then south, hoping to pull the bad guys onto my allies’ position. This I did. The first light to come through the gap was faced by all three allies at one hex range (I had withdrawn my Duellist to the south). The light, a Duellist, plowed in and took the leg off an allied hunchback before succumbing. I worked one Woodpecker into mg range and the other, with the Duellist I sent up onto the southern ridge to move along it and hit the gap from the south. The short-range battle was won quite quickly with honours going to my Duellist who came up behind the heavy, hamstrung it, and chopped it up on the ground with his chainsaws. He then helped finish off a porcupine.

I really liked the way that the allied AI appeared to hide its forces. Wonder what it would have done if I had stayed in my first position and engaged the enemy myself. Would it have charged out of its ambushing positions or would it have waited ‘til my battle was over and then gone in and mopped up the smoking ruins?

cool. never had an ai do that before. then again i don't play the AI much. i don't play ToS much at all nemore.
but i have had the AI do some stupid things... like run in circles around the mtn i was on while i killed it... it could have climbed up teh mtn if it had wanted to, but nooo, it just circled around with it's CC titans...
