Gettysburg Anyone?

I have just--literally--ordered BG: CW and cannot wait to try playing Gettysburg against a human opponent! I ordered the physical copy so it will take bit before it gets here.

I've played the BG games many times and even required them in my Community College Civil War Class. I would be a VERY tough Bobby Lee! Anyone interested in defending Little Round Top and Culp's Hill from me?

I like to play with all the optional rules in place.

Should also note that I would LOVE to do an AAR during the battle.  I cannot believe that there aren't any running in the Forum!  My opponent doesn't have to do an AAR but it might be fun if they are willing to try...

Hey John, I'm still waiting for my physical shipment to arrive. I had done download only on the Napoleonic one, so I ordered the physical shipment for both.

When it gets here I'll be up for a game, although I'd rather play CSA since I'm a Son of Virginia, but I guess I can take the Union :D. Should arrive any day now...

I ordered my copy of the Civil War set on Wednesday.  Cannot wait for it to arrive.  I have always loved these games!

If you are a Southerner we could always look at TWO scenarios and see what each other does...

I have enjoyed Gettysburg so much because the armies are matched so evenly.  The battle can go either way with good opponents playing.  I just wish the map was bigger so there could be more room to move about.

Hey John,

I have my copy now, if you haven't found an opponent I'd still be up for it. One thing I have to admit though, I haven't played the ACW version before and it looks to be just different enough from the Napoleonic version that I'm not sure if I could give a good enough challenge without a practice game first.

If you're still looking to get something going maybe we could do a short practice game of a smaller battle/scenario?

Bill

Hey Sir.

I just figured out that I screwed up my order and had to re-order this afternoon.  As soon as I get why don't we try a little fight?  Take a look through the game and see what jumps out.  I seem to remember a pretty good one in the 1st/2nd Manassas and/or Sharpsburg Battles.  Is it South Mountain?  Hmm....

I'll jump back on this when the game arrives.

HiHi

Anybody need an extra game I'll take it, will play either side, though my hearts with the Rebs.

Historical, all optional rules on except ADF, sorry wont let a pretty stupid AI do my shooting for me.

All the Best
Peter

HiHi

Iron Warrior, John, what I do over at the Blitz when playing New guys is to play one of the very short games, 'Give them rocks' 4 turns of the Bull Run disk is a good one for just getting the feel of the game, there are other short, but longer games as well, drop me a line if interested.

There is also a 'Bits & Bobs for Newbies' post on the ACW MB at Blitz you may (or maynot) find some useful stuff there if rusty/starting new.
