For Frozen Stiffer: Remember Derrek "D-Lee"?

Sorry, my friend, but my 2001 Pirates just traded for Mr. Lee. The Bucs now have a decent infield, and I plan on keeping Aramis Ramirez. Now, having every team with a treasury of $150-$180 million IS a bit unrealistic, but the object of MLB was, and is, achieving parity. Besides that, we haven't had a winning season since 1992, and finished 62-100 in '01. If I can't do better than that, I'm hanging up my cap. [;)]

As for the Marlins and D Lee, you remember that he ended up with the Cubs, so I don't feel bad for getting him now.

For Let's Play 2: you made a joke about trying to get Bonds back. Well, he WILL be a FA after '01, but I'm not keen on pursuing him. As I recall, he generated some bad feelings amongst Pirate fans in the early 90s, and I really don't think he'd wanna come back to Pittsburgh.

I remember Derek Lee very well. I'm sure he'll enjoy his time in freezing Pittsburgh, but he will never forget his warm, sunny days in South Beach and that really shiny ring on his finger that has the words "2003 World Series Champions" scribbled on it.

...I wonder if Pittsburgh can match that?

=o)

Honestly, I don't know how well he will do. However, I got him not for his bat but his defensive capabilities. So far his hitting is mediocre. That's OK. My best batsmen (Giles and Kendall) are performing well so far.
