If anyone would care to post some full resolution screenshots of the game it's be just great. Those on the game's site are very small and hardly readable.

Sure, we're working on that - it seems that for folks with smaller resolutions the auto-resize function in our new site is making the screenhots too small. In the meantime, have a look at these:

In the OOB, these are listed as:

1. Schleswig-Holstein
2. Schlesien
3. Gneisenau
4. Scharnhorst

Schlesien and Schleswig-Holstein were mostly training ships. They were smaller than Admiral Hipper class heavy crusiers and had a maximum speed of 17 knots. Modern ships would've taken them apart in a fight.

Are there other icons for the units rather than the x's and circles in square boxes? I think having better looking icons would be good or at least as an option. Something similar to panzer general or axis and allies.

Thanx a lot, the map actually looks quite good, the small ones from the site made it look rather ugly...

Weren't those Heavy Cruisers and Battle Cruisers not Battleships?

Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were closer to Battleships than Battlecrusiers. They could take more punishment than most battleships of that time but had weak armament. Battlecrusiers sacrificed protection for firepower. It was always planned for Scharnhost and Gneisenau to have their 11 inch guns replaced with 15 inch guns but it never happened.

Nope. If the final release uses what the alpha-demo did, then the map is drawn from a set of "tiles" (ala TOAW3) and not a single map file (ala Guns of August).

We'll definitely look into that for an update. The data is in there as far as city names at least.

Yeah, that was more or less my recollection as well - were they WWI era dreadnoughts or later? They should probably be rated more like cruisers in that case.

Yes, in fact the "figures" that you see in the screenshots on the product page are the default. I posted these all in the "counter" style to show people what it looks like. Here's the other style:

The "classic map with hex" using the NATO counters doesn't look half bad in the alpha-demo, maybe you could post a screenshot of that as well.
