attempt to bring back the clan thing

was just thinking about it... came up with a system that might work. i'd rate teh clans by how many "towns" they hold, each clan would start out with a number of towns and each time there's a clan battle, they decide who the defender will be. if the defender wins, they keep the town. if the agressor wins, their clan gets a new town.
i have some other ideas but i need to think about them first.

any feedback? is this one going to work maybe?

If you prefer the more military aspect of TOS you can substitute Squad/Squadron for Clan. I'm not sure I love the whole 'Clan' thing but I'm not exactly against it.

Also what exactly do you mean by towns?

ok so squad. i don't really like the word "clan" myself... but i'm looking for the same concept: a bunch of guys working together.
and the whole town thing was just a was to give it a point type thing, only with an image attached.

Manufacturing plants, refineries, mines... all the supplies that go into making a titan? You lose a town, you lose those resources? Of course resource allocation was never a point with titans.

no no no, the town is basicly just 1 point for the clan, nothing else comes with the town except 1 "point"

So it's a score keeper. The best squads win the most battles and have the most towns.
But it would require a bit too much planning, a thing this community is notoriously bad at <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> Perhaps something similar, whenever a member of a squad battles a member of another squad that can be reported like the other battles. Firestorm, if willing, could keep track of the squads only, thus allowing Naragon freedom from a further burden.
I.E.
Say I'm in a squad, and I get on ICQ and see that Lyhrrus is online. Now lyhhrus is in a rival squad, so I challenge him and we fight and he wins. Now, Naragon would record that fight as he always has, but Firestorm, seeing that we are both in squads would make note of the contest, and use it to calculate a rating for the squads similar to Naragon's player rating. Thus eliminating neither, and STILL allowing squads to exist. It would help encourage more play, without interfering with freedom ofspontinaity, or with Naragon's player ratings.
combat between persons in the same squad would, of course, not be counted in the squad rankings.
Your thoughts?

sounds like a good idea to me, maybe i should have thought my idea out a bit more beforehand; i looked back on my origional idea (the one with the towns, except an expanded version) and decided it was much overly complicated.
i'll to my best to keep track of the squad battles... and no tags guys! tags on names can get annoying. if you must, put something in your sig.

Because Titans-At's are world conquerors in Warring Suns why not switch villages with Worlds or better yet, Systems.

i'll find some way to work worlds/systems into this, but for now it'll just be point rankings.

so... if were going to do this we need clans... so uh... who's gonna start a clan??

i'm with ya prince!!

4 ppl to a squad sounds good.

[edit] actually i shouldn't join any squad, as i might be tempted to fudge the scorekeeping one way or another...[/edit]
