Convince a BT fan to check this one out!

As well as a SPWAW fan, I´m a BattleTech/Mechwarrior fan, among other things.

Now, what does Titans of Steel have that BT does not?
What makes it different/better?
What about the world and storyline (this one will be impossible to beat I reckon)

I´m not skeptical, I just want to hear it from the horses´ (your) mouths.
I did enjoy the Earth/Starsiege series on the PC though, so I´m not one to frown upon competitors. And if this is a Matrix product....

Battletech in its current incarnation as a computer game plays like and arcade game. ToS plays like chess. Reflexes won't save you in ToS. The only way that you can win consistantly in ToS is to think. To think all the time about everything. To maximize and capitalize upon every minor edge that you can create. Missing a break move command by 2 secs can cost you a game (damn, you lyhrus). ToS also can turn into the best tactical combat game (16 vs 16) that I have ever played and I have been wargaming for 37 years. Those are some of the reasons that I am still truly, madly and deeply in love with the game after 165+ netgames and years of playing MechWarrior.

You sound like you'll really like TOS. Get a copy of the freeware available here at matrix games. Try it out, read some of the manual, try it out again. In an hour or two your questions will be answered.

Heh, missing a single break move doesn't compare to all the headshots you get on me. <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> Incidentally, I recently took 80+ points of jock damage from a heavy meson shot to my head. Scary.

I found this game about a month ago and, despite the fact that I don&#8217;t have an internet connection at home and therefore can&#8217;t play head-to-head, I have played it pretty solidly since then. Admittedly I do have the odd whole day when I don&#8217;t play a game but I played often enough that my top jock is a 49 battle elite killing machine. Download it. Give it a try. Pray hard for the Warring Suns full version to come along &#8211; complete with military campaigns and other good stuff.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I do play the tabletop BT game along with the computer games.
I´m not one of those twitchy trigger finger-reflex freak gamers, although I do enjoy the computerized ´Mech games (playing Black Knight now)

Our group has been waiting for a game like this for BT, but this looks like the next best thing. Who knows, maybe even as good as BT?

The campaigns and pilot generation can make or break this one too, although multiplayer will be verry interesting I reckon.
Hopefully there will be more that just single battles for multiplayer....Multiplayer campaigns, those are THE best.
