Game Bug

I am new to TOS and I have to say I love the game. I can't wait to see where it goes from here it has a lot of potential.
I was wondering where we report game bugs. I ran into a bug that locked me into a battle. Unfortunately now I have to dismiss my team. The computer AI Titan just kept jumping back and forth from Attack to Movement mode and the game never moved on from there. I left it that way for a couple of hours to see if it would break the loop but it did not.
Hope this info helps

Thank you very much for this information. I doubt we will make any improvements to the freeware but we have addressed this in Warring Suns. The AI of warring suns is going to make version 1.4 seem sad by comparison.

If you happen to have an extra $500k for your team you can 'retrieve them'. Sometimes this becomes the only option.

If you do have to start a new team here is a suggestion:

Create 3 jocks in this order:

1)1st jock: increase the leadership skill as high as possible. Don't worry to much about other skills. Even if this means increasing charisma and intelligence. 60% leadership is o.k. (you'll get better recruits)

2)2nd jock: Increase the Business skill as high as possible. Even if this means increasing charisma and intelligence. 60% business is o.k. ( you pay less for repairs and titans)

3) 3rd Jock: Increase the Damage Control as high as possible. (see above)

4) This is your first combat jock. Increase the highest skill they have to the highest levels as possible in the following order:
Combat, Movement, Other. I recommend energy, Light/recon, Jump, and Scanner. Left over skills:
Close combat, Recon.

Increase this as high as possible. If you can get all of these skills above 40% that is great. Your weapon and move skills should be as close or higher than 60% as possible. Otherwise you will have bad problems.

Now fit the titan to the jock. Look over the jocks and choose one that has 2 or more energy weapons. Icelord is a good first titan. 13pts damage is decent.

Let me know if this works o.k. for you. After this jock gains a level or two. then purchase a new jock and put him/her/it in a support position. I have had good success with a jock that has unguided missile skills in a needler. But make your own choices of course.

I Bought 3 Jocks and 3 Titans with my starting Cash. My leader got a hunchback and my other 2 got swifdeaths. The 2 recon mechs work in tandum to chop a titan to bits while the Hunchback just sits back and fires his lasers and AC20 <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> . I played an Avererage Team right off the bat and won. If you run the Swiftdeath that the enemy has a lock on out of the hex he has to keep switching his Lock to the one that is chopping him with Power Axes. They don't get to fire very often and they get their legs chopped off very quickly. I made sure my Close Combat Skills were in the 60s as well as my pilot skills. For the Hunchback I worked mostly on his Cannon Skill. He ripped a head off on his first shot.

Great Game - I am looking forward to Warring Suns

That's happened to me before as well. There are two in-game "fixes" for it. One, break the AI with either shift-A or F3. Then move it a space and it should be okay, and then turn the AI back on again. The other fix is just F3, and call its move or attack. It'll stop for long enough for you to get to your turn, but it will reloop afterwards. Then you just do it again and pick it off at wil. >=D

As good as the AI for the freeware is; Warring Suns is far better with patrol patterns, attack patterns and several other options.

How far are you guys along with the testing of the game? I have never Beta Tested a game before but I am interested in doing so if you need the help. I have tested several cars for GM and am familiar with the detailed reports which we had to fill out for them. Do you do something similar for games?

If you are interested I will post my e-mail for you then or you can give me yours

Take Care

Beta testing began over 3 weeks ago and we already
have plenty of beta testers care of Matrix games.

Your offer does not go unappreciated. If you search ICQ using rosary@viciousbyte.de you'll find me eventually. I am more than happy to discuss all things TOS or even play a battle or two.

You can find many things out by trying the icons next to a posted name.
