couldn't believe it

logged on today, to find to my *great* dismay ~576 new email messages in my inbox. no this is not because i havn't checked by email in a long time: last time i checked it was about 7 hours ago. to my further dismay they were all from the same sender, who was sending another one to me about every 5 seconds. they were junk email advertising some PoC DVD-R or something. i quickly blocked it and deleted all of them (that was a pain, esp recovering the messages i wanted to keep taht i had read), but didn't stop to make sure that every one of them was from that person (whom i suspect was a bot). so if anyone sent me any email lately please resend it, because it probably got washed away.
and be warned of this person! i should have stopped to get their email so i could post it and you could block him b4 he did the same to you.... oh well. i remember it was a @yahoo.com e-mail.

it was definitely a program designed to flood your email. This technique has been used to shutdown government servers before. Its a simple yet powerful technique. I suspect it was a hacker that has a grudge against you for whatever reason.

that's really annoying, my brother has same problem...and I got a virus in e-mail about a month ago. The person who sent it to me tried to disguise it to MS Excel file but obviously failed, because file containing the virus had very strange name (.xls.doc or something like that) so I deleted it. w00t, I checked my mail while I was writing this and there was about ten new messages from pornsites, visa, travel agencies and contests. I hate online advertising but there's nothing we can do about it. Dang.
