New Scenario: Guadalcanal

Hi, you'll find a new scenario waiting on approval over at the AT website. Its based on the Guadalcanal battles and is my first stab at a Pacific scenario. It's play tested only by me so far and as its human only it may end in some quirks that I'm not aware of. Good luck and get those marines ashore on the first turn.

Here's the description.

The scenario focuses on the resupply difficulties over water with both sides subject to the same supply rules. The only area represented to scale in the scenario is the island of Guadalcanal all other islands and supply bases are represented more abstractly. As you will find Rabaul, Shortlands, Nourema, Luganville and Brisbane on the map but not drawn to scale or correct land mass.

The only manufactured ItemType is supply so be careful and conserve the forces you have.

The Japanese have a smaller supply level than the allies but have a bigger advantage in capital ships and planes. The allies have a greater amount of troops, cargo ships and have an additional base for supplies. The key for the Allies is to get the extra production (Brisbane) into play as its a balancing act to supply the Australian troops or starve them and give greater supply to their US allies.

Hi Dazoline

Fun to see more people starting to mod their own scenarios. Me and Widell have actually made stabs at making guadalcanal scenarios before. You can read the thread, download our attempts and use what you want here if you want.

Thanks Grymme

This scenario has been on hold for about 8 months as I have been doing real life things. I got into modding with this game when it was 1.0 but folded when life took over and I was disappointed with the editor back then.

Now I'm back and I wanted to kick out my two scenarios, this one and Russia which has been in the test area for 6+ months.

I will take a look at your thread but I was using this Guadalcanal scenario as a stepping stone to doing a Solomon's campaign with a big concentration on the naval side of things. So I'm not sure how much effort I want to apply to it in the future. We shall see.

Nicely done scenario Dazoline.

Moved to the approved list. This might be nice for someone wanting to play a smaller scenario that still has air - naval and land combat.

Thanks!
Rick
