I just tried this, thinking I could land 12 units in one turn against a lightly defended Britain, race to Cardiff to open up supplies, and then surround London, pound it from the air, and walk in.

Epic fail. Never even took Cardiff.

Is this something the Axis should not even try?

Every time I have played the Axis, I have been able to land and take over England, so I think it can be done

you just may be missing something simple and it is not working for you
