Gegen die Welt

An extraordinary German AAR


Especially for you I would like to present AAR based on 1.20 patch. Some minor issues might be changed but most of the functionalities will stay as they are.
I'm not a warmonger and there might be some moments when an extraterriestal (F1) intervention will be needed. I'll try to inform you about that.

Please bare in my mind that English is not my mother's language, so don't be cruel when judging my grammar.


Part one


1st of September 1939, somewhere in Poland.

Fall Weiss has started. Allied countries aware of German's warmachine danger has started mobilization few days ago. Future will show for whom this war will be easy.

German units stationing along polish border have supreme advantage. Unfortunately, bad weather allows to see only little over 120 km deep into enemy territory.

Main goals of Wehrmacht is to conquer Poland in less than six weeks and not allow French army to enter into Third Rich during this time.

Operation will be split into three phases.
Phase one break into polish territory and causing the enemy as many casualties as possible.
Phase two panzer raids to the centre of Poland and surrounding enemy forces by infantry.
Phase three besieging and conquering polish capital.

Part two

Advance of the Wehrmacht was beyond everything seen before. Within two weeks, German panzer units reach outskirts of Warszawa. Many of the polish units were destroyed, surrounded or broken. It was only matter of time until first enemy of Third Reich will fall. Polish airforce can’t stand Luftwaffe, polish pilots were brave but totally outnumbered.

German planes totally dominated the sky and can attack polish units whenever they wanted to, causing extremely high losses.

Now everything depends on what happens in western front. Will French army attack, when majority of German forces fights in the plains of Poland?

Observers and spies reported that at 12th of September France and England in Abbeville decided they will not help Poland. Sietzkirg in the west started.

Hidden behind Maginot Line, greatest fortifications ever built by man French forces were thinking only about themselves. Only few single shots were fired trough the border, mostly to the rabbits.

Very nice, Doomtrader.  This game looks great to me.  I am just waiting for payday (Friday) to get this [:)]  I just have some more convincing to do...for my wife [:D]

Part three

At 16th of October Warszawa has been conquered. Victorious units from XV Korps has held great parade. Poles were on their knees. It is clear now that nothing can stop Wehrmacht.

Quick German victory over Poland was shocking for the whole world. Western allies tremble in fear before wrath of German forces. They were still covering behind Maginot Line and doing nothing more than sheltering refugees.

Third Reich's borders extends far to east and by honoring Molotov-Ribbentrop pact it was now neighboring with Soviet Union. Fourth Partition of Poland become truth.

After the Fall Weiss been over German army must restore their losses. Switching industry into war economy will be helpful.

The rest of autumn and the time of winter will give some time to rest and to strengthen die army.

Part four

After the eastern part of Germany has been secured, and the weather becomes less friendly it has come time of preparation for the clashing with western allies. Now the most urgent task is to reinforce and improve units. Wehrmacht needs to reorganize some of the divisions into larger formations.

One of the important things in the war is gaining air supremacy, that’s why all Luftawffe units must be reinforced first.

Another important step that helps to defeat enemies will be strategically relocate military units. To save time and money many of the units were loaded into train platforms and transported west by rails.

When the whole operation will end, German army will roll over Allies. Hopefully.

Part five

German HQ very soon realized that operations in the west are going to be very difficult without using paratroopers. First division of that type has been formed near to Hannover.

Difficult, special training made this unit elite one.

Winter months passed on redeploying troops to the west and north parts of Germany. Some of the units received reinforcements, some has been upgraded.

Spending funds on intelligence brought benefits. Information about state of French army emerge into complex report.

Now nothing more left as preparing plans of Fall Gelb.

A report that shows # of units in play, ummmmm, only in the new game menu.[X(]

You may want someone review the map? The Polish-Soviet border isn't right? Grodno is on the wrong side and Kaunus shouldn't be adjacent to the border?
It looks like the map doesn't show the Bialystock bulge properly? CEaW also had that same problem?
Terrain in Russia could also be reviewed. A lot missing.

Yes but on checking things I see that it is me that is wrong? The screenshot of the new border looks fine apart from Kaunus now? So the M-R Event does create a better border.

It is the 1941 scenario border that you will need to change. That is the one that I was looking at tonight and because you used a zoomed out picture I assumed that it was the same.

By the way if the M-R Event has been triggered then why do we see the borders of the Baltic States still? Actually this would be correct since the Soviets did not move in till later? Is the Soviet occupation handled by a new Event?

Part six

Kriegsmarine can’t stand Royal Navy or Marine Nationale. That was the reason why Oberkommando der Marine decided to keep whole fleet at Baltic Sea. Final Battle could be turned into the full scale slaughter. Only thing that forfended dreams from Admiralty where Danish straits. Fortunately marine assault was ready.

Land forces were slowly moving toward west, every week getting closer to French border. Plans for spring offensive were almost ready. The only thing that stops Wehrmacht from attacking was muddy terrain, but plans were already prepared.

Phase one destroying main Dutch and Belgian forces
Phase two conquering Amsterdam and Brussel, destroying Allied forces near Lille, and opening road to Paris
Phase three destroying allied marauders near borders, raid to Paris
Maginot Line holding allied forces

Just to answer this: there are separate events for Soviet occupation of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, they fire at their historical dates, i.e. mid 1940
