Today in a game this happened:

Kaiser Ulver tried an Italy first strategy and so the Austrian fleet steamed into the Eastern Med and fought some British ships.



As we can clearly see: The sea zone is contested.

Yet when I activated some French cavalry in Toulon, ready to get shipped to Egypt I could ship them to Trieste....



I figured all the Austrian troops would move into Italy so I tried it. I found the town without guard and...



and...



I shouldn't be able to do this, right?
I had one French amphib in the East and one in the Western Med. When I activate the Serbish troops in Scutari I cannot invade Trieste. Only the French can.

Okay. Do you guys at least agree with me that this a bug? Because if it is we should forward this to Frank Hunter.

It appears to be a bug. You should not be able to conduct amphibious missions in a contested sea zone.

Some testing indicate that the sea control check is made for the area bordering the port of embarkation.

Similarly I have recently found that the check for invasion due to presence of DN/PD apparently is made at moment of invasion that is between strategy phases which means that you have to keep a DN/PD in port in order to prevent invasions. I assume that is a mistake as well.

Found the bug, it was a bug, the fix will be part of the next version
