Unable to load PBEM-file.

We have just started a 3-player PBEM-run, but there's a snag. I've started it and mailed the files to player 2. He managed to start the game and mailed the files on to player 3. Here's where the problem is. Player 3 can't start the PBEM-game.

We therefore have three questions to begin with:

1. Could the problem be connected to the fact that player 1 and 2 uses XP, whereas player 3 has Vista?

2. There's a file called "Repo.dat". Should this be inside the PBEM-folder, but outside the folder with the name of the PBEM-game, or should it be within the latter?

3. Is there any documentation regarding the PBEM-system somewhere?

Can you be more specific, i.e. what do you mean he cant start the game. Is he getting any message? If he gets a message saying 'you have already finished your turn' or sth like that, tell him to clear the contents of repo.dat but the file itself MUST exist, otherwise the game may crash or produce any other unexpected behaviour :)

Repo.dat should be inside the PBEM folder but outside any folder with the game.

There is no documentation, I thought system was quite simple. Select the game and pass it on to the next player. It should work. Like I said - the reason might be that one of you changed something with repo.dat. Or another reason: you've sent this file together with the PBEM game. Do not send repo.dat to anyone otherwise it can mess not only one but all PBEM games of this guy.

He sorted it out now, and it seemed to have something to do about one repo.dat too many. Think it works fine now. I even understood how to change the countries file to shift neutrals to specific players.

I'm in the same game as Uxbridge and it seems we need to clear repo.dat from information now and again to be able to play our turn (otherwise the game says we have alreayd played our turn).

So there seems to be something odd going on there.

How many people play? Who plays which country? Have you switched control from AI to human in the middle of the game? Are you sure you send the save file to appropriate player, i.e. it does not work like Player 1 plays always first, then Player 2 then Player 3 but it depends on country sequence (Germany, then other axis countries, then allies and so on)

We'll try to replicate the problem and see if there's a bug.

We are three players. Uxbridge is Germany/Slovakia, then it is Mille66 who plays UK and then me as Russia. We play the 1941 campaign.

No, we have not switched from AI to Human in the middle of this game (we were only two turns in when the problem arised and we are currently on round three).

Well, the sequence of play shouldn't have altered playing these countries, right?

It's like Mannock says above with the addition that I also play Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria (Finland AI). All these countries was at war in the beginning of the 1941 scenario, right? So there shouldn't be any switches of player order. We have not been fiddeling with the control of countries.

One oddity, though, is that my Slovakians are frozen in position from turn 2. No action points. I pass this country before being prompted to send files to player 2. Don't know if it has anything to do with the problem, but thougt it worth to mention.
